| The Rockwool Group |
|
The Rockwool Group is the world's leading producer of stone wool - a material that improves the quality of life for millions of people and helps to alleviate environmental problems, such as the greenhouse effect, smog and acid rain. Rockwool insulation gives us pleasant indoor environments by keeping out the freezing cold that jeopardised the health of our ancestors for thousands of years. In hot climates, stone wool helps to keep indoor temperatures comfortably cool.
World-wide presence The Rockwool Group was founded in 1937. Today, the Group has a turnover of DKK 7.9 billion and more than 7,400 employees. The Rockwool Group operates 22 factories in 14 countries in Europe, North America and Asia and has a world-wide network of sales offices, distributors and partners ensuring that its stone wool products reach all parts of the globe. Group headquarters and the R&D and environmental departments are based in Hedehusene, near Copenhagen.
Environmental advantages Rockwool insulation is one of few products that can save more than 1000 times the energy used for its manufacture. It conserves scarce energy resources and reduces air pollution and CO2 emissions by minimising the combustion of fuel.
