5) Does stone wool remain free of disease throughout the cultivation? Stone wool supplied to the greenhouse is free of disease. Whether subsequent infection with soil diseases occur, depends on the hygiene in the greenhouse. Naturally, the plants will also need to be free of disease. The risks can be reduced even further by devoting great care to laying out the system, using a ground sheet, and employing packaged slabs. Furthermore, the grower can readily control any infection that might occur in spite of the above precautions – that is the benefit of the compact root volume.
